Suggestion for a DAD to be gift when bub arrives?
I know in my heart that my hubby will buy me my much awaited eternity ring to go with our wedding band and engagement rings (he is traditional like that) as this is our first baby and well the 1 anniversary was 3yrs ago so this is the next step to give it but my question is I would like to surprise him with a gift of love for the birth of our baby as I see the baby as a gift to us both and cant use that as an excuse. Anyone buy there hubbys something for when bub arrived or have any ideas/suggestions?
I think you should definately get your hubby a gift….if for no other reason than because you want to commemorate this very important moment in your lives together.
However, getting that perfect something may be tricky….so I am going to give some suggestions but keep in mind I know nothing about your husband’s taste, etc.
A watch….a nice one (not digital??) that is engraved on the back with the year and your child’s name?? Perhaps something like “This is the time we will look back on and smile….this is when we finally became a family!”
A stereo in baby’s room….and CDs to go along with it. This way he can influence the baby with his musical choices (add yours later…or hide them at first!!). There is no greater gift than being able to dance with your infant when no one else is watching!!!
A custom onesie for your child….with a message for your husband. You could give this to the nurse beforehand….to be put on your baby after they have cleaned him/her off!! “I waited nine months to meet you dad!!!”
Have someone in your family or one of your friends run out and get a print made of the best photo taken of your husband and his child while you are still in the hospital. Have a frame already bought….and then put this photo in the frame for him. Engrave it, perhaps??
Your husband will not expect anything….so I think you are pretty safe no matter what you choose! I love your sentiment….having babies and celebrating babies and the marriages that create them is what life is all about!!!!
