Can I “flip up” and hide an 18g septum captive bead ring?

So far I’ve just been wearing a plain ring. I know you can do it with the larger gauges and horseshoe shaped ones, but I’m about to get a 18g 14k gold captive bead ring. If I take out the bead, will I be able to flip it up into my nose to hide it? I need to know so I know whether or not I should also buy a retainer as well, or if I can just kill two birds with one stone.

You can only flip it up if you have a horse shoe ring. A captive ring won’t work with the bead. However, if you take out the bead, it should be fine. Just be careful it doesn’t fall out. I just got mine yesterday with a horseshoe and you can’t see it at all when you flip it up. I just made sure to tell my piercer to do it high enough so it is hidden when flipped up because I can’t have it for my job. Hope this helps you!
