If you think that your loved oney would like to have her ring served to her mounted to silver or platinum ring, obey her wishes, but if you go for gold, I strongly recommend that you buy 18K gold ring. Pure gold is 24K, but it’s unfortunately too soft for engagement rings.
Like I said earlier, I’ve been withmy friend’s ring-shopping process, and he ended up purchasing the ring, when he finally made up his bloody mind (sigh), online for reasons that I’ll sum here in few sentences. what would a 6 carat pear shaped red diamond cost in mid 1950s?
Looking for detail in piece of fiction. The character has a pear shaped six carat red diamond. Or could be a white diamond with red ‘veins’ in it. The time period is 1953. There are two types of Colour Diamonds, enhanced and natural.
Enhanced (politely put) are diamonds that were pulled out too early and heated to get the colour- they are substantially less valuable.
Natural diamonds are of course ones that came out exactly as you receive them.
If you are going to buy an enhanced diamond, clarity is important. Since the diamond is NOT natural, it has no investment value and should have a clarity grade is SI2-3 or higher (occasionally a lower quality could be okay, if the diamond can still hold its ground- like in the case of Blue Diamonds).

The misconception is that coloured diamonds are simply unattainable to most consumers is bogus. A smaller intense colour is a smart alternative to a larger light colour for the same price. Not only are these diamonds worth more per carat than a larger colour of weaker saturation, but their more vibrant color more than makes up for the loss of carat size.
