Chinese Luck Question?

okay so i go to a filipino – chinese school here in the philippines, but i’m not taking up mandarin language. so i have a lot of fil-chinese classmates, especially the girls, who wear a gold chained bracelet with red beads. i asked a person i know who sells jewels, and she said the name of the bracelet was “Corals”. I think, red corals. i’d like to wear one, even though i’m not chinese. is it ok?

The picture isn’t very clear but I think I saw these too back in Cali. If I’m not mistaken they represent something like small, continuous version of a Chinese lantern. I’m not sure about the “coral”, probably it was the material made out of, and yeah sure you can wear it.

I actually don’t know either they are popular fashion there or something. I usually see them in younger girls (up until high school probably?).
