Can you have on your jewelry, such as earrings and necklaces on an air plane?

This is my first time traveling by air so I am a bit confused about what can I and cannot take. I don’t know if I could take my jewelry on me or not.

You are allowed to wear jewelry; however, when you are going thought he security line you have to take it off and put it in a bin so that it can be scanned.

To make things easier, keep all jewelry off and put it on after you go through security. They might still need it taken out to be scanned so just keep it together.

No knives or anything that can be mistaken for a weapon; those will get confiscated.

Also note that some places make you take off shoes, belt, cell phone and anything that a metal detector can pick up. I recommend wearing socks so if you have to take your shoes off your feet won’t be touching the bare floor.

Keep in mind this rule only applies to what’s going through the line on you and as a carry-on. You can keep almost anything in your suitcase if it’s checked in, as long as it conforms to legal standards.

And don’t worry, if you have something on that sets off the alarm the worst that will happen is that they will make you take it off and go through the line again. As log as you follow the rules, you’ll be fine.
