Significance of Birthstones in Gemstone Therapy
Many people believe that there are healing properties associated with some gemstones and crystals that exist naturally. Gemstones that are used in jewelry making are sometimes dyed and irradiated to enhance their texture and cover up flaws. For healing purposes, pure and high quality stones are used. Birthstones are also considered mystical and powerful and some people believe that these stones can bring good fortune if worn on a regular basis. Gemstone healing has been in practice for thousand of years for the cure of many common illnesses and conditions.
Naturally occurring crystals and stones come in a variety of invigorating colors including blue, orange, yellow, green, red, black and many others. It is now an established fact that colors can have an effect on our mood or behavior. Indigo color can soothe our nerves and may help in curing chronic headache and disorders of the nervous system. Similarly, orange can cure loneliness and feelings of despair. White gemstones represent peace and serenity. They can help overcome our fury and calm us when we feel angry and ready to erupt. Amethyst is the stone of February and it is known to cure stomach disorders. It is a beautiful purple gemstone used in engagement rings and many other jewelry articles. Amethyst is also considered a healing stone in Ayurvedic Astrology. It can bring peace of mind and tranquility. Among mystical birthstones, bloodstone is the gem of February. It is a green stone with red spots which symbolize blood. It is known to improve blood circulation throughout the body and cures hemorrhages. Mystics believe that this magical stone can help increase the knowledge of the world.
Diamond is associated with the month of April in traditional and Ayurvedic Astrology. Many healing properties are exhibited by diamond as believed by mystics and believers of alternative medicine. Diamond is known to cure headaches, physical injuries, joint pains, and dizziness. It also helps in rehabilitation after surgery or accident. Among birthstones of June, moonstone comes under the category of mystical stones. It comes in many different colors including orange, gray and yellow. It is considered a sacred stone in India and ancient Romans believed that it is created by actual moonlight. As a result of this primeval belief, this gemstone is still considered as a magical and mystical stone.
Other popular birthstones used in gemstone therapy include sapphire, opal, ruby, onyx, turquoise, agate and jasper. Sapphire is the Ayurvedic stone for August and it is used to clear the mind of any doubts and uncertainties. Sapphire is also used as a stone which represents loyalty and commitment. Agate is the mystical gemstone for the month of September and comes in many colors including blue, green and white. It is a common belief that wearing agate can cure sleeplessness. Onyx is the mystical gemstone for December. It’s a gorgeous stone and comes in hues of black and brown. This stone is known to have many magical powers.

He is a light red, smooth coat, full blooded dachshund. I have a female black and tan named “Daisy” and I prefer kinda old fashioned names. I am torn between “Copper” and “Jasper” but would like any suggestions and or a vote.

How about instead of Copper – - Cooper. Cooper sounds good with Daisy (which is an adorable name btw). Of course it has no meaning, but it sounds distinguished.
