Catholic Novenas…have you had success…?
I’m new to trying novenas and am doing a novena to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal for the purpose of obtaining the grace to forgive my abusive ex boyfriend. So far, it seems to have helped a great deal…but I wondered if anyone had any other stories of their experiences? When you perform a novena at home, do you just light a candle…or do you make it a bit more elaborate with perhaps a bit of chanting or a rosary before hand??
My family has always done novenas and they have always worked. All they do is say a prayer every hour (or whatever time frame they wish) until the time they set is up (8 hours, three days etc.) Nothing special. No rosary unless that is part of the promise, no candles, no chanting. Just prayer. And they always work.
