Multi-Volt Adapter Question?
Hi,
I have a few electronic items around the house that I have lost or broken the power adaptor for (rechargeable torches etc.) I thought I would kill two birds with one stone and maybe buy a multi-volt adaptor – enabling me to charge a wide variety of items, with a single adaptor.
What I need to know is whether or not I need to worry about the mA rating of each item I’m charging as well. For instance I have found a multi-volt adaptor that has selectable DC outputs of 3v, 4.5v, 5volt, 6v, 6.5v & 7v with a 2,500mA max output. Now say I have a rechargeable torch which is rated at DC 4.5v and 150mA – would it be ok to use the previously mentioned power adaptor to charge this torch?

Your adapter must meet or exceed the amperage draw for the device n question. As long as you have the voltage, polarity & adapter head matched up, then the adapter should be fine for your torch.
