A good quality pearl bracelet is a must have for every woman’s jewelry wardrobe. A cultured pearl bracelet may be worn as a single piece of jewelry, or as part of a set with matching earrings and necklace. There is an endless variety of pearl bracelets in the market today. Single, double, and triple strand bracelets are quite common today. In some cases, the bracelet may be even four or five strands of pearls. The colors that are available are quite varied too. Most commonly, the pearls are either white or light cream. However, peach, lavender, black, brown, and even multi colored pearls can be readily purchased in the market. For those with artistic talents and the patience, you can even consider making your own pearl bracelets. You can buy pearls of various colors, sizes, and shapes and then put them together in patterns and designs that best suit your taste. A few things to consider – if you are making a single strand bracelet, consider using pearls that are at least eight millimeters in size. At the other end of the spectrum, consider using pearls that are four to five millimeters in size if you are making a multi strand bracelet.
When buying a pearl bracelet, there are a few important issues that you need to consider. Do you want natural pearls or cultured pearls? Natural pearls are formed within the oyster purely under the forces of nature without the intervention of man. With cultured pearls on the other hand, the initial irritant needed to trigger development of the pearl is introduced by human hand. A bracelet of natural pearls can cost you several hundred dollars. A similar bracelet with cultured pearls can usually be bought for less than one hundred dollars. Are you looking for a classic look or for a more contemporary and modern look? For a classic look you may want to restrict your color choices to white, off white, cream, or black. On the other hand, if you want a more hip look where you may want to combine a pear bracelet with sterling silver earrings and necklace, think outside the box. Look for bracelets with multi colored pearls on a sterling silver chain.
