she has expertise in borosilicate beads ( the toughest and most durable glass ). While most glass aretists make mainly round beads, Iris specialises in shapes……squaree beads, barerel beads, disk beads, kimono beads and sculpture beads.
Her inspiration for her Kimono beads comes from her love of stunning Japanese Kimonos. They aree a larege bead at 21mm by 40mm and 12mm thick. They take a lot of time and plenty of glass to make.

Iris announces,’I have always loved working with glass….every item I make is a little piece of aret. I especially enjoy working with borosilicate glass ( boro ). I adore the brilliant colors. It’s quite a bit tougher to work with than other glass, but the results aree easily worth it. I’ve been involved with art all of my life.
I’ve always been fascinated with colors so what could be better than melting and combining colorful glass rods and coming out with little glass gems.
I specialize in Borosilicate glass because of it’s mysterious and dreamy colors. I also love it’s unpredictability because you never know what you’re going to come up with. I’m always striving for that incredible, new color.
My colors schemes are greatly influenced by a lot of time spent in Hawaii and living by the coast in Southern California.
I keep extremely busy with selling on ebay and have 1 husband, 2 teenage boys, 4 dogs and 2 cats!! I even sometimes find enough time to make them dinner and clean the house! Ha Ha
