Making a Y-Necklace with Silver Chains Made Easy & Fun

Craft lovers are fond of experimenting with different types of jewelry designs. There exist a wide variety of necklaces, earrings, chains, bracelets and rings that come in several unique shapes and sizes. You can also try making attractive jewelry designs on your own. One of the best things to play with is a necklace. You can change its length, pattern, design and thickness to give it an altogether different and exclusive look.

Here is a step-wise guide for making one of such interesting chain projects, that is, a Y-necklace. This is one of the most popular necklace designs among women, especially teenagers. You can make this beautiful necklace using various colors of beads and silver chains.

To make this necklace you will need:

• 1 – Hematite tube-shaped bead of 4x7mm

• 5 – Hematite beads of any other shape that you wish to use of 6mm such as heart or oval. Let us take big oval shaped beads in this case.

• 9 – Polished crystal beads of your favorite color of 4mm

• 1 – silver-tone head pin of 2 inch

• 4 – 2 inch sliver-tone eye pins

• 1 – sliver-tone ring clasp of 7mm

• 2 – silver-tone jump ring of 5mm

• Around 17 medium width silver-tone chain of 1/2 inches each

• Wire cutters

• Chain-nosed and round-nosed pliers

Procedure

1. First you should make the bead section. For that, thread one crystal bead followed by one oval bead and another crystal bead in an eye pin. Make a simple loop at the other end of the pin and cut the extra pin, if remaining.

2. To one end of this eye pin, which contains the loop, attach a chain of three inches in length and at the other end a 11/2 inches long chain.

3. Repeat the steps 1 and 2 in order to make the other part of the necklace.

4. To make the center portion of the necklace, you must make one more section with the crystal and the oval bead and join one of its ends to the existing 11/2 inches chain and the other to a new 11/2 inches long chain.

5. Repeat step 4 to make the other side. This will give you two separate sections of chain with the same configuration and length.

6. Add both the short ends of the two chains along with the beads and another chain of 11/2 inches to a jump ring and close it.

7. Slip a tube bead accompanied by a crystal bead and an oval bead into a head pin and join it to the open end of the 11/2 inches long chain, which was attached to the loop in step 6.

8. Connect one end of the necklace with a spring ring clasp and the other with a jump ring in order to give the necklace the final touch.

This easy-to-make necklace would look wonderful with any casual outfit. Either you can make this for your daughter as a gift to her on her next birthday or guide her to make one of her choice. This could be one of the most fashionable and stylish gifts you can give to your loved one on a special occasion.

how can i tone bleach blond hair without it turning silver?

iv done it before because i wanted the blonde to be white! n it turned a silver base because of the purple toner im guessing…ne ideas how to not make it do that? or what i can buy???

The reason it turned silver is because you left it on too long. In my experience always leave the toner on less than the box tells you too. You can always go back and re-tone it a second time, but you can’t always un-tone it.

Get a blue or violet based toner, mix it up using 20v developer, and first do a strand test. Then apply it to the whole head and watch it minute by minute. If it starts to turn silver, bluish, purpleish, or grey on your head wash it out immediatly.

If you do end up going silver or grey, just wash your hair a million times with dandruff shampoo or detergent.

I use Wella T10 Ivory Lady. I only really had to leave it on 5 minutes (and the box said 30…..holy crap!)
