Snake Bracelet

No jewelry collection is truly complete without a jewelry chain. Able to be worn alone or carrying a pendant, chains offer varying looks for men and women. Should you be on the lookout for some modern chains and necklaces, here is a great guide on how to recognize all the popular chains.

The “Box” chain. The appearance of a box chain is square. Links themselves look like little boxes or squares. These links create a smooth, perfectly square chain. The Venetian chain is another common name for that type of chain.

The “Wheat” chain. A jewelry chain with a wheat pattern is constructed of ovals that have been a little twisted. In order to create an intricate necklace these links are connected and intertwined. Once completed, the design gives a woven appearance.

The “Rolo” chain. One of the most distinctive chain styles is a rolo. Like a string of donuts, the picture perfect circular links are joined together. They can be made using large or small links to create a subtle or bold look.

The “Bead” chain. How does a bead chain look? It is just like a bead! They look just like metal beads joined together with a single strand of metal. There are usually small gaps between each bead link.

The “Rope” chain. Obviously so called because it looks just like rope. It is comprised of a minimum of two linked chains that are fastened as one. Look closely at each chain and you will see that each one is made up of ten or more smaller strands of metal. It has the appearance of a length of rope when they are all twisted together.

The “Byzantine” chain. Another popular jewelry chain is the byzantine chain; at first glance it looks like a random mess of interwoven metal, however, much thought goes into the construction. This jewelry chain doesn’t appear to have a pattern, although it does. Imagine small circular shapes so closely-intermingled that they are barely discernable, a little like a tangle of a bird’s nest. That type of chain is called byzantine-style.

The “Snake” chain. Snake chains have a serpentine look. The links have a slight curve in the middle of them and look a little like scales. This is a common choice of neck chain for males.

The “Mesh” chain. This jewelry chain looks like mesh – Can you believe that? It is a bit wider than the usual types of chains. Small twisted circular links are woven together in a fine manner, often at least five tiny links in width and laid flat.

There are plenty more jewelry chains not listed here. But these are some of the more common chains you will see when out shopping. Many times, online pictures of necklaces or chains are not clear. So read these descriptions and you should be well informed and able to compare popular jewelry chains with no problem.
