Best way to fix scratch on stainless steel watch?

I have a Movado watch
I tried buffing it and it did not help. I have heard of scratch removal solutions. Has anyone used them or can recommend them. I went to the watch repair and they said they can remove it. But I don’t want to pay that much unless I have no other options. Thanks for the advice!

If the scratches are on the crystal face then you can remove the scratches by using toothpaste, which is a mild abrasive and will not harm the crystal!
