I wear a watch with a leather strap all day at work. Sweat gets trapped and the whole thing is beginning to reek.

you could try with saddle soap. but if it´s the first time you clean your strap , then it might have no affect . It might be better to buy a new one , then use the soap every other week to keep it soft and clean
