I just had a state inspection done on my ’05 dodge dakota 4×4. They failed it due to tie-rod play and both sway bars and bushings/ links needs to be replaced and leaking transmission lines. But i’m suspect cuz the steering feels fine, no tire wear, and there is nothing on the ground from anything leaking. And I only have 50,000 miles on it! Any advice? Should I get a second opinion? They quoted me about a $1300 job

Why are they checking the tie- rods & sway bar, Here in Texas they dont need to drive them , but so places do any way, back to your front end work, is you wheels shaking & your steering wheel real loose , that’s the only way they should be looking at your front end . If you can just take it to someone else for a inspection.
