How do you polish Turquoise jewelry?

I purchased a turquoise necklace from an antique store. It is Native American style with carved animals out of turquoise. I need to clean and polish it but I’m not sure what to use so as to not harm the stone.

Slipst… is right, turquoise is a soft stone, like jade, and the mounting material is the one that can prove the problem, if it is silver, the acid in the cleaning fluid can make even a soft cloth like knives.

but, if you really need to do it on the cheap, you rub with cotton wool, you will rub a lot, a real lot, it is a good way to give up smoking, drinking and other things whilst you sit there, night after night rubbing, the silver will also polish up this way but a professional is the best way
