Water Pearl

Pearl Gourami originated from Sumatra and Malaysia. If you plan to keep them in a community aquarium, you should understand some important facts about them.

1. They are coming from places with heavy plantation. So when you are keeping them in an aquarium, you should provide adequate plants – both floating and fixed in the aquarium. Floating plants are useful for them as hiding places because the fish is very shy in nature.

2. Though Pearl Gouramis will accept any type of food offered to them, you should take some special care in their nutrition. You should provide some vegetables like spinach or lettuce to keep their health in good condition. At the time of their breeding, you should provide them live food like blood-worms.

3. You should always remember that eating habits of Pearl Gouramis. They are very shy in nature and they will not be grabbing their food quickly when it is offered in the aquarium. In fact the other species may catch the food before it reaches them. They will just wait to see the leftovers at the bottom of the tank and they will be eating those! So you should ensure that they get their food regularly.

4. As they are shy in nature, they need a lot of places for hiding. So the aquarium should provide some artificial decorations involving holes and caves which will be useful for them.

5. They like quiet surroundings as well as subdued lighting. So you should take care to locate your aquarium in a place which is away from the sunshine. You should not provide a lot of artificial lighting in the tank because that will put them under stress.

6. At the time of their breeding, you should preferably shift them in another tank. In this tank you should raise the temperature of the water up to 80° F and you should carefully observe their behavior. Once the females lay the eggs, you should remove them from the aquarium. The males should be removed after hatching of the eggs.

7. Do not keep Pearl Gouramis with any other fast moving fish. These fish may try to harm Pearl Gouramis and they can also take away their food. So you should consult your pet fish shop before making a combination of several species of fish including Pearl Gourami in your aquarium.

8. They usually create a lot of waste in their daily routine. So it becomes your responsibility to keep the aquarium clean. You need to have a powerful filtration system in the aquarium which will keep the water clean. In addition, you should physically clean the water after every 3 to 4 days. If the waste keeps accumulated at the bottom of the aquarium, it will spoil the water and naturally the health of all the fish living in the aquarium would be affected.

9. During the breeding process of Pearl Gouramis, the eggs will float on the surface of the water. Naturally they are subject to a lot of troubles. The males will not eat the eggs but the other species in the aquarium may find it a treat! So it is advisable to shift the males and females to a separate tank before the spawning actually starts.

10. In the breeding tank, you should provide a number of places for hiding. The males can become aggressive at the time of spawning and they may hurt the females. One more thing you can do for avoiding such attacks is keeping at least two or three females per male.

What can I do to fix a water damaged Blackberry Pearl phone?

Its a T-Mobile Blackberry Pearl bought in 2008. It got water damaged a few months after we first bought it. Now im trying to make it work again as Im opening a new phone line and dont want to buy a new phone.
Let me know if you have any other ?s

Blow dry it. My science teacher did this after it was left in the rain in the car; and it worked fine ever since.
