Citrine Rings at a Glance

Citrine is best known as the stone for the month of November. A lot of people have come to know and love this stone under the name gold topaz, or Madeira or Spanish topaz.

Although in actual fact it has very little in common with the higher-quality gemstone topaz – except for a few nuances of color. The history of the citrine is closely interwoven with that of the topaz. Coincides with it completely when it comes to the interpretation of alleged miraculous powers.

The citrine is a member of the large quartz family, a family which, with its multitude of colors and very various structures, offers gemstone lovers almost everything their hearts desire in terms of adornment and decoration.  From absolutely clear rock crystal to black onyx and it does so at prices which are often affordable.

Citrine rings are made with a single or several citrine stones characterized by their amber color that resembles topaz. They are set in yellow gold, platinum, sterling silver or white gold. Citrine rings are most commonly yellow in color. But do not be surprised if you find some that are colored differently.

Depending on the concentration of iron within the citrine gemstone, the hue can go from light yellow to a deep orange color. Which citrine ring is perfectly suited to your own individual tastes? Since there are many different styles available on the market, it can become overwhelming to find the perfect one.

The first thing you should look for is a high quality gemstone. You can actually use a great deal of the advice given for diamonds in this task. In particular, pay attention to the 4 c’s consist of carat weight, color, clarity and cut. The color of a citrine ring is one of its defining aspects.

So, this is absolutely crucial to a high quality piece of jewelry. Be sure that the color is even throughout the entire ring. Sometimes color gradients can occur which detract from the look and feel of the ring.
